K. Pauline McDonald age 70 of Bushnell, IL passed away at 9:39 P.M. Thursday February 21, 2013 at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb, IL. surrounded by her family. Pauline was born on April 21, 1942 in Marietta, IL to Lorraine (Rogers) Miller and Wayne D. Rogers. She married Jerry Lee McDonald on September 16, 1966 in Checkrow. She is survived by her husband Jerry of Bushnell. Also surviving are five children – Tanya (Jeff) Taber of Cuba, IL, Tina (Kevin) Crawford of Bushnell, IL, Jack McDonald of Galesburg, IL, Bill (Julie) McDonald of Bushnell, IL, Bryan (Sarah) Baca of Macomb, IL, eleven grandchildren and 6 Great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 Brothers – Tom (Carol) Rogers of North Henderson, IL, Delbert (Alice) Rogers of St. Cloud, FL and 2 Sisters – Sherry (Marvin) Rhodes of Necedah, WI and Phyllis Miller of Olathe, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 Brother (Dick Rogers). Pauline was a graduate of Cuba High School class of 1960. She went on to be a devoted wife, proud mother/grandmother/great-grandmother and donated much time to her family and community. Pauline belonged to many organizations and clubs over the years, was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, a City of Bushnell Alderperson, served on the swimming pool board for 24 years, and helped with many community events. Pauline loved her town and in August or 2012 she was awarded the Illinoisan of the Day at the State Fair for her selfless commitment to the community. Pauline also loved people, and over the years was a friend to both young and old alike. She was a talented crafter, and baker and she enjoyed going to yard sales and shopping. We cherish her memory and it lives on inside of all of us. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday February 26, 2013 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Bushnell, IL. Father Tom Holloway will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Monday February 25, 2013 at the Bushnell Recreation Center where friends may call after 3:00 P.M. on Monday. Burial will be in the Bushnell Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, Memorials be made to the Pauline McDonald Lifeguard Scholarship Fund for the Bushnell Swimming Pool.
